Our Club has just fewer than 80 members and we are active throughout the year. We train daily and our squads utilize Virgin Active’s 25 metre indoor, heated swimming pool based at Gatesville Mall, Temple Street in Gatesville. This location is favourable, as it allows easy access to all our members predominantly from the Athlone, Bridgetown, Rylands and Hanover Park areas. During summer we also use the Athlone Swimming Pool (outdoor) for early morning training.
Our head coach is a well-known qualified swimming instructor and accredited with Western Province Aquatics affiliated to Swimming SA.
Although swimming is an individual sport, swimmers train and compete as
part of a team.
We encourage our children to develop good sportsmanship, team spirit and camaraderie. Furthermore, we motivate our swimmers to achieve their personal best times, thereby finding that swimming star within!
